NowThis Politics got #BelieveWomen completely Wrong

Wow, what a year 2018 has been. I do not know which year was the worst, 2016 or 2018? My money has to be on 2018 because so much happened in 2018 that if I counted everything that went wrong, I would probably be whole night and I still won’t finish.

One of the biggest news that emerged this year was the Brett Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford case. Brett Kavanaugh was accused of raping Dr. Ford when they were in high school. Because Brett Kavanaugh was nominated by President Donald Trump for the position of Supreme Judge or something, the entire thing took a political twist very quickly and lo and behold, everyone on the American news was talking about it.

Among the propaganda that was being spewed out by the American media and the amount hate that was thrown at Brett Kavanaugh was astonishing, especially when considering that the verdict had not even been passed. He was immediately billed as a rapist and Dr. Ford was hailed as some hero who dared to speak against a man of power and challenge the “patriarchy”.

One of the propaganda videos that were spewed out was a video by NowThis Politics titled, ‘Men must make sure that other men believe women’.

The video was politically driven and I did not appreciate the approach the video was taking. For the uninformed, the video on the surface said that if a woman makes a claim, she should be believed because the repercussions are great when a woman speaks about her rape because she was very little gain.

But underneath all that, the video was trying to say that we should believe Dr. Ford because she is getting constantly harassed by Kavanaugh Supporters and she had very little to gain from it. Another thing about the video that rubbed me the wrong way was how the video was trying to target men but the real target were women, especially the ones who have been sexually assaulted.

Women saw the video and instantly connected with it and when such connection is formed, they stepped forward and defended any criticism lobbed towards the video. The video or the narrator did not have to defend anything about the video when there were rape victims out there defending the video and any criticism would be labelled as misogyny or hate speech.

I know because it happened to me. I made a rebuttal video to it and even though I kept a neutral stance throughout the video, it still did not sit right with some people. The video is embedded below if you want to see it.

I do put my hands up that the video could have been better because I forgot to include some bits of information. This is the beauty of the internet today. What I could not include in the video, I will include here on my website.

Dr. Ford’s GoFundMe account:

“Very little to gain”, said Allan in the NowThis video. Well, according to the Go Fund Me site,
Team Christine Blasey Ford managed to raise $647,610
. Yes, you read that correct. Now, truth be told, there was a fundraiser for Brett Kavanaugh as well but it was not as much was Dr. Ford. More information about both their fundraisers can be found here, which also clearly states that BOTH parties received death threats.

Two women admitted they lied about the rape:

Now, this does NOT, in any way means that Dr. Ford is lying, but two women who had previously accused Brett Kavanaugh admitted that they lied about the accusation.

Many women who support #MeToo don’t support Dr. Ford:

Yes, you read that correct too. To my surprise, when I tweeted out the link for my video, it was retweeted by a lot of women who support #MeToo.

Michael Avenatti got trolled by 4Chan:

Now, I do not know how much truth there is to this story but apparently, someone 4Chan user managed to troll Michael Avenatti, the legal representative of women who filed cases against Brett Kavanaugh into believing that he was speaking to a woman who was raped by Kavanaugh in high school. I am not going to elaborate on this but the video embedded below pretty much sums it up. Once again, I am not sure how true the story is but if it is, Michael Avenatti needs to reconsider his career options.

MCM Comic Con London | October 2018

For those who didn’t know, I was away for the weekend for MCM Comic Con London for October 2018. I was fun. I met a lot of cosplayers, filmed by vlog and just enjoyed the nice quite time away from the troubles of my life and in an environment where I was surrounded by like-minded people who shared the same love for movies, videogames, comics and manga as me.

This was the first time, ever since I have been attending Comic Cons that I cosplayed for two days. Since, it was a three day event, I was able to squeeze two days of cosplay and one day for filming. On the Friday, I was dressed as ‘Bloodsplatter Mafiaso Deadpool’ and on the Sunday, I was dressed as ‘Mafiaso Deadpool in Black’. I took some photos as well which you can see below.

The last two times that I went to MCM Comic Con London, I used the trains because they were quick and the travel did not take a lot out of me. It was one Virgin Train from Manchester to London and back. There were no train switches, no hassle – just a straight non-stop journey from one end to another but recently, I have had some financial issues and instead of using a train, I decided to take a coach.

The two and a half hour journey on a train took me six hours to get into London. That does not even include the extra travel after that. I had to go from the coach station to the train station, navigate the complicated underground trains and tubes while making sure I catch the right one and then walk up to the house where I was supposed to stay. The entire journey took me about seven hours. I left from Manchester at 5:30 in the morning and checked in my Airbnb at around 12:30 noon.

The travel by coach was smooth and there were no issues there but because the journey took so long, I was beat by the time I got there.

It was worth it as you can see it in my vlog below.

On the Monday when I checked out, I did not reach my home till 22:00 and all I needed by then was my warm bed and some good night’s sleep.

But unfortunately, everything that has a beginning has an end and now I am back to the battle station and ready to resume my battles as usual. There are more videos I need to make. I wrote the script for one video before I left. I need to record the voiceover for it and work my magic in Shotcut to get it out on YouTube.

There are a couple of more videos that I am planning but they will take some time and I do not want to rush in.

I just wanted to share with you what I have been through recently and just wanted to let you know that I need be back to my rant videos real soon.

Peace out, people and stay awesome.

Is Claudia Kim as Nagini in Fantastic Beasts 2 racially insensitive?

So, I have been hard on this video because I have set up a schedule for myself that I need to upload at least one video every week and this topic dropped on my lap last week. The moment I laid my eyes on it, I knew I had to make a video on it.

Now, I admit – I am not a Harry Potter fan, never read the books, never saw the movies, probably will never see the movies and did not see Fantastic Beasts, which from what I know is supposed to be set in the same HP universe. I was surfing on Facebook when I noticed that someone tagged me to an article by Lad Bible about Racial Insensitivity in Fantastic Beasts 2. The issue was brought up by a teen author named Ellen Oh (who I have never heard of before and have never heard of any books that she has written as well) when she tweeted out saying, that it was racist to cast the South Korean actress Claudia Kim for the role of Nagini as the snake goes on to become the pet of a ‘White Man’ later on in the universe.

If you are aware of my mundus operandi, you would have realised it by now that this article did not rub me the right way. I mean, I like it when something rubs me the right way but the problem is, those moments are hard to get nowadays.

Anyways, I made a video on it and it’s now available on YouTube.

But if you cannot be bothered to watch the video, here’s the lowdown – it’s not racist and people who think like Ellen Oh are racists and sexists themselves. I think Ellen Oh wanted her ’15 minutes of fame’ and got them by attacking a famous author online by calling her ‘racist’.

I mean, how oblivious does a person have to be? When she said that she found it racist because an Asian girl, turns into a snake goes on to be a pet of a ‘white man’ – did it not occur to her that she is one who sounds racist? If I had seen the movie, that thought would have never occurred to me and I am sure, there would have been more people like myself who wouldn’t have thought like that but since Ellen Oh herself is racist and sees the world through the prism of ‘Racism’ and ‘Sexism’, she completely missed the fact that playing the role of Nagini could have been the biggest role Claudia Kim could have played till now. Will Claudia get to have a say in all of this?

I think, we have reached a point in our lives in this world where people are blinded by the notion of achieving equality that they fail to consider the inequality they create by their actions and words.

So, I am going to say it right here – Ellen Oh and people like her are the real racists here. As long as they feel that everything is racist, sexist and homophobic, and it needs to be pointed out by people like her, our society will remain divided.
